Activities for the whole family

An actionfilled day at "Vattenlandet i Sunne" - Sweden's funniest land! - is a must-do for the water loving visitor. Here there are activities for everyone, small and big, old and young. You can slide down one of the many bodyslides or try a familyrace, just lie in the sun or eat icecream until your stomach is full. There is a Lazy River or an dramatic Free Fall, you choose what you dare to try. And, everything is places under the bright, blue and hopefully sunny sky!

Further goals, for the ones who haven't gotten tired after a day in Sunne Vattenland, could be Rottneros Park. Here it is fun for both children and adults with a big Adventurepark for the children, and for the adults one can find inspiration in the Ideagardens. Rottneros Park is a flower-, garden- and sculpture park with a unique collection of statues. The Park also has a strong connection to literature through Selma Lagerlöf, who wrote about "Ekeby" - Rottneros Park, in her debutnovel "Gösta Berlings Saga".

Sunne is a known culture town with among others, Göran Tunström and Selma Lagerlöf. A visit to Mårbacka, where Selma Lagerlöf grew up and later on returned to, gives you an opportunity to learn more about this famous writer. To get to know Göran Tunström you can take the citywalk in Sunne where many important places from his books are marked. Map can be found at the last page of Sunne's touristguide.

There is so much more to do in Sunne, but all can not be mentioned here. But, we will just give you a few more examples.
A visit to "Tossebergsklätten" gives you a spectacular view over the landscape. Or what about a fishingtrip in the deep forests of Värmland, or go horseriding? A mountainbiketour will give you an experience never to forget, both for body and soul.

Two yearly returning events is the Cultureweek, where the Literature Prize of Selma Lagerlöf is awarded, and the dancefestival "Fryksdalsdansen", where dance, music, festivity and memories for life are made. You can find other events in the menue here to the right.

WINTER IN SUNNE
Altough the summer ends Sunne doesn't stop with activities. A perfect winter climat mostly gives the area lots and lots of snow. Therefor many outdoor acitivities are offered our visitors.

Ski Sunne opens around christmas. The resort has nine slopes, a high-performing ski-lift and perfect hills for the children. The resort is open until march or april depending on the weather. Wandering isn't just a summer activity. Active Värmland takes you on a hike with snowshoes. Mooneye with their sled dogs offers a marvellous sledtour through the winter landscape.

As you can see, there is lots to choose from in Sunne, and we want to be sure that you feel welcome and find what you are looking for. Hopefully you will enjoy yourself so much, that you will come back and visit us again, and again, and again...
